October '14 Chair Message

Tony Del Castillo Chairman web

To serve as a true advocate for businesses in our area, your Chamber has over the years developed programs and hosted events that help set the stage for networking with our State and local elected officials and policy makers. From Tallahassee Trek, Election Hob Nob, legislative luncheons, Leadership Brandon, and even a visit by our Governor, these events and programs are critical to enabling our members to gain knowledge about our business climate, and the policymakers they will potentially be voting for. Take advantage of these opportunities to better understand the issues and get to know the leaders that are making these decisions. Read more about how to engage wthin this month’s newsletter! Your informed vote is critical to our future!

We are a 5-Star Accredited Chamber as recognized by the United States Chamber of Commerce. We are the first Chamber within the region to earn this honor. We received this prestigious 5-Star designation because we offer quality programs, practice sound organization procedures, and reliably contribute to positive change within the community. In order to receive accreditation, we demonstrated to the U.S. Chamber competency in nine distinct areas, including governance, finance, human resources, government affairs, program development, communication, technology and facilities.

Since 1964, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has invited state and local chambers of commerce to participate in its Accreditation Program. The program is designed to stimulate a continuous self-analysis of an organization’s growth and development with an opportunity to reassess its objectives, organization resources, program of work, procedures, and achievements.
