The Government & Economic Advisory Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month, 4:00 p.m. at The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce.
The council is charged with presenting and monitoring the annual agenda of business topics that the organization will actively advocate on behalf of the local business community. The council hosts an annual trip to Tallahassee for business owners to communicate directly with elected officials, coordinates annual legislative and congressional updates for the membership, hosts interactive member conference calls throughout the Legislative Session with locally elected leaders, maintains working relationships with local elected officials and agency leaders, representing the organization at meetings of interest to advance the annual agenda, recruits business representatives to serve on area boards and councils, and fosters relocation, growth and retention of desirable industries within Eastern Hillsborough County through partnerships with economic development entities within Hillsborough County.
The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce Advocacy Agenda is developed by the members of the organization, through their Government & Economic Advisory Council, and approved by the Chamber's Board of Directors.
